Who can use AgentPitch?

For homeowners, and anyone with authority to sell.

You don't have to be the owner to compare agents. Whether you're selling your own home, an inherited property, or acting for someone else in a professional or legal capacity, you can describe the property once and compare written proposals before deciding whom to invite.

Homeowners

Sole and joint owners selling their own home, whether it's a first flat or a long-standing family house.

Executors and inherited property

If you're dealing with the home of someone who has died, we're sorry for your loss. Executors and administrators, and family members who have inherited a property, can compare agents without arranging a series of visits at a difficult time. Agents will usually ask about the progress of probate before a sale can complete.

Family members helping a relative

You can make an enquiry on behalf of a parent or relative who has asked for your help, provided they agree to it. The owner, or someone with legal authority for them, will need to instruct the agent and sign the sale documents.

Attorneys

Attorneys acting under a registered Lasting Power of Attorney for property and financial affairs, or a registered Enduring Power of Attorney, can use AgentPitch to compare agents for the person they act for.

Landlords and investors

Selling a rental property or part of a portfolio, with tenants in place or with vacant possession. Agents can say whether they'd market to investors, owner-occupiers or both.

Companies

Directors and authorised officers selling property owned by a company, including property companies and businesses disposing of residential stock.

Trustees

Trustees selling a property held in trust, acting together as the trust deed requires.

Private and family offices

Professional offices acting for an owner or family, who want written proposals they can review and share with their client.

Court-appointed receivers

Receivers appointed by the court who need to sell a residential property and want to compare agents' approaches and terms.

Insolvency practitioners

Administrators, liquidators and trustees in bankruptcy realising residential property, who need clear fees, terms and marketing plans.

Lenders and asset managers

Lenders and their asset managers selling repossessed homes, who want to compare agents' pricing evidence and approach before instructing.

Someone else?

Choose "Other" on the enquiry form and tell us your role in a sentence, for example a deputy appointed by the Court of Protection. We'll review it before inviting any agents.

How authority works on AgentPitch

  • On the enquiry form you tell us your connection to the property and confirm you have authority to arrange its sale.
  • If you're not the owner, we review the role you've described before inviting agents, and may ask a question by email.
  • We don't ask you to upload legal documents. The agent you eventually instruct will carry out their own identity, anti-money-laundering and authority checks, as they're required to.
  • Verifying your email address confirms your account. It isn't proof of legal authority to sell. Please only submit an enquiry if you have it, or are acting with the agreement of someone who does.

What stays the same for everyone

  • Agents see the street name and postcode district only, never the full address or your contact details at this stage.
  • You choose up to five agents to visit, and your details go only to the agents you consent to.
  • Inviting an agent for a valuation is never the same as instructing them.
  • Free for sellers, with no obligation to proceed.
